Streetside contemporary photography by Bert Danckaert

Working out of his native Antwerp, Belgium, photographer Bert Danckaert has made a name for himself with his incredible street side photographs. His photographs are special in that they mimic with texture and color different fields that we have become accustomed to in painting, but not in traditional photography. It’s almost as if Danckaert sees the sides of the streets he goes down as an endless canvas that he scours for highlights and beauty. Aside from having solo exhibitions in multiple countries, Bert Danckaert also works as a writer on photography for different publications and is a professor of photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, which he himself attended as an art student.
