Frauke Dannert is an exceptional collage artists that maximizes the outcomes of her craft by repeating her images, diminishing their individual gravity, and creating something beautiful, foreign, and obelisk out of their parts. Finding her collage fodder through photocopies, the internet, and newspaper clippings, Dannert oftentimes finds a certain strong and architectural element to focus on and embellish as she repeats its form in altered manners on her artwork’s surface. These surfaces have been viewed as an opportunity to experiment – the artist has used different kinds of paper, copper, and even large scale walls for installation work. As her career has progressed, the artist’s style has swayed back and forth somewhat between total abstraction and very tangible subject matters. Her most recent work finds itself standing right in-between those two categories. Scroll through Frauke Dannert’s fantastic work below!
