Aso Mohammadi is a Swiss-based artist who left his home of Kurdistan in Iran as a young child. He started practicing photography at the age of 15. He became bored with black and white photography and portraiture that he was being taught at the time and began to experiment personally with very bright compositions and still lives that oftentimes incorporate a human presence. Mohammadi’s coloring of his photographic work has an interesting effect on the viewer as rather than depersonalizing the content, the brighter, graphic feeling colors seem to bring out a rawness of such ephemeral moments captured by the artist. Textures and contrast are heightened in a way that draws the eye around the composition, spending time enough to think of the possible contexts. Spend your time with his beautiful and powerful artworks below!
