Poetic photography from Polish artist Janek Zamoyski

A native of Warsaw, Janek Zamoyski plies his trade as a contemporary photographer in the world of fine art. His works begin to envelop the gap between painting and the photographic process by composing images that guide the mind toward the abstract. The more time spent looking at these photographs, the more compelling they become. The artworks (all captures of unaltered nature) are composed and framed in a way that causes the eye to wander across the entire surface of the image while the mind is caused to wonder at what lies just beneath the visible in these photographs. Janek has developed his own personal style which incorporates grainy, grayish tones to communicate a poetic dialogue of melancholia that focuses on the subjects’ aesthetic. The artist’s series of ocean waves and skies titled, “Heave Away”, incorporate many images with a common horizon line that incorporate the variety of weather and time while sharing the theme of being on the brink of a swelling sea.
