Artist DAAS balances chaos and control

American-born artist DAAS, who is currently based in Kobe, Japan, works with line, shape, and color in a manner that constantly pulls at both chaos and organization in what develops into a microcosm of the natural world around us: Full of random pieces that come together to create a beautiful harmony of balance. The artist talks about just that when he states, “Often times, I will find inspiration by referencing the crease patterns found in origami, studying the variations of textures and hues in the layers of old aged walls around historic sites in Nara, Japan as well as the often-sporadic placement of colors in the environment, such as road signs, neon lights and the stand out colors of clothing worn by people in crowds.” See his artworks displaying animals and humans in DAAS’ geometric and colorful style below!
