Symbolic barricades by Chase Westfall

In an interview with Whitewalls, Chase Westfall stated, “…art is more effective as a forum within which the uncertainty/frustration of contradictions can be put on display.” Instead of trying to solve issues or come to a form of complete resolution, Westfall utilizes the power of art to its full potential by bringing specific ideas, connotations, and feelings to the observer without offering a conclusion. A portion of his work focuses of symbolism of violence and terror while some tends to lean more towards the side of the aesthetically pleasing. The barricades or geometric planes the stretch over Westfall’s work or embody the piece have become the most iconic feature of his. Dive into his work below!
